On Wednesday, Dec. 16, a special assembly was held at Rivers Elementary School at 10 a.m.; volunteers from Westoba Credit Union took goody bags filled with Christmas treats to the children. All 169 students were preparing for their Christmas concert that evening and were very excited and appreciative of this surprise.

This visit is possible through Westoba Wonders, a voluntary program of outreach where Westoba  employees plan and execute random acts of wonderfulness to give back to their community.  The Rivers wonder marks 50 of these acts throughout the province.

“It’s marvelous to see what novel ideas our staff have come up with for their communities,” explains Randy Brown, vice-president of member solutions. “When we launched this initiative over the summer, we hoped it would take on a life of its own.  Thanks to our dedicated staff, it has grown and flourished in ways we never imagined.”
