On Tuesday, Jan. 19 the Joints Needs Assessment Committee of Rivers United Church presented a number of church-related recommendations to many of our congregational members.

This led to insightful discussions and positive feedback. One fabulous new idea that emerged from the discussions was to host a women’s coffee, cookies and conversation group the third Tuesday of each month. The first one will take place Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. in Friendship Hall. All women from Rivers and area are encouraged to attend. It is open to absolutely all women, regardless of age or denomination; coffee and cookies will be provided. The informal conversation is sure to be fun and uplifting. Come alone or bring a friend. Renew an old friendship or forge a new one. For more information on this free event, contact Lynn Madden.

We wish long time members John and Helen Dyck all the best as they have relocated to Brandon. Everyone misses seeing them at church on Sundays.

Our winter social event will be held Sunday, Feb. 14. Several members of the congregation have volunteered to put together and donate themed baskets to be auctioned off as a church fundraiser. Bring your potluck food to share following worship; strawberry dessert and beverages will be supplied. Feb. 14 is a Sunday school day as well, so there will be much excitement in the church on Valentine's Day!
