Research is showing increased benefits of walking or running on a trail.  This weekend, local walkers and running have a chance to give it a try.

This Saturday, Sept. 24, 8:30 a.m., the Langford Recreational Trails is hosting a trail walking and running event.

When one walks or runs on a trail, the impact on their joints is reduced,  they develop stronger stabilizer and core muscles.  They also receive greater fitness benefits for the same amount of time  spent exercising.  Along with a variety of other physical benefits, people will find themselves refreshed emotionally and mentally as they absorb the peace, quiet and beauty of the natural world.

The event gives participants the opportunity to experience working out on a trail, while being able to choose their own pace and distance as well as having the assurance that others are around.

To get to the Langford Recreational Trails, head 10 km east of Neepawa on #16 Highway, then turn south on Rd. 81 W and drive 5 km.
