Neepawa Gymnastics wraps up season

The Neepawa Gymnastics Club has had a busy couple of months. They finished off January by hosting their home competition. Eight clubs from across the province and approximately 167 gymnasts attended the Regional Stream Competition in Winnipeg Mar. 4-5. The results were as follows:

Beginners: Madisen Trites - Gold on Vault, Gold on Bars, Gold on Beam, Silver on Floor and Silver All Around. Alexa McDonald- Silver on Vault, Silver on Bars, Silver on Beam, Gold on Floor and Silver All Around. Annalyn Quesnel- Silver on Vault, Silver on Bars, Silver on Beam, Silver on Floor and Silver All Around. Myfanawy Brown- Gold on Vault, Bronze on Bars, Silver on Beam, Silver on Floor and Silver All Around. Paige Kaspick- Gold on Vault, Bronze on Bars, Silver on Beam, Silver on Floor and Silver All Around. Cassandra MacDonald- Silver on Vault, Bronze on Bars, Silver on Beam, Silver on Floor and Silver All Around. Sveinna Bjarnarson- Silver on Vault, Bronze on Bars, Silver on Beam, Silver on Floor and Silver All Around. Kimberly Leonard- Silver on Vault, Bronze on Bars, Silver on Beam, Silver on Floor and Silver All Around. Regan Winters- Gold on Vault, Bronze on Bars, Silver on Beam, Silver on Floor and Bronze All Around. Layla Mousseau- Silver on Vault, Bronze on Bars, Bronze on Beam, Bronze on Floor and Bronze All Around.

Intermediate Age 9: Ida Holm-4th on Vault, 6th on Bars, 4th on Beam, 6th on Floor and 8th All Around. Anastasiia Artyukh- 7th on Vault, 5th on Bars, 8th on Beam, 7th on Floor and 17th All Around. Ella Koshel- 10th on Vault, 8th on Bars, 10th on Beam, 7th on Floor and 18th All Around.

Intermediate Age 10: Bree Walker- 1st on Vault, 3rd on Bars, 7th on Beam, 3rd on Floor and 3rd All Around. Ashley Dyke- 13th on Vault, 9th on Bars, 14th on Beam, 11th on Floor and 12th All Around.

Intermediate Age 11: Jenna Gibson- 3rd on Vault, 7th on Bars, 1st on Beam, 5th on Floor and 1st All Around. Greta Wiebe- 5th on Vault, 12th on Bars, 3rd on Beam, 3rd on Floor and 7th All Around. Kyra Kaspick- 6th on Vault, 8th on Bars, 10th on Beam, 7th on Floor and 9th All Around. Hanna Kaspick- 6th on Vault, 11th on Bars, 7th on Beam, 12th on Floor and 11th All Around. Jordan Kidd- 13th on Vault, 13th on Bars, 11th on Beam, 8th on Floor and 13th All Around.

Intermediate Age 12: Seleena Knoll- 9th on Vault, 9th on Bars, 6th on Beam, 9th on Floor and 9th All Around. Advanced Age 9-10: Monique Malsi- 4th on Vault, 3rd on Bars, 2nd on Beam, 1st on Floor and 3rd All Around. Peyton McLaughlin- 2nd on Vault, 4th on Bars, 4th on Beam, 4th on Floor and 4th All Around.

Advanced Age 12: Mikhayla Levasseur- 7th on Bars, 8th on Beam, 7th on Floor and 8th All Around.

Pre-Provincial Age 11: Jayden Armstrong- 5th on Vault, 5th on Bars, 2nd on Beam, 5th on Floor and 5th All Around.

A huge thank you to the clubs that attended, the parent volunteers, the competition board members and the gymnasts for all their hard work. Our new equipment arrived. Our new gymnastics floor mats and boxes arrived at the end of January, just in time for our home competition. Thank you to the Beautiful Plains Community Foundation for the grant to help us purchase this new equipment and to all the Gym-A-Thon donations. We really appreciate the support. The club started February out at the St.Andrews Competition. It was a great competition put on by the St.Andrews Club!

Intermediates Age 9: Anastasiia Artyukh- 5th on Vault, 5th on Bars, 5th on Beam, 5th on Floor and 5th All Around. Ida Holm- 4th on Vault, 6th on Bars, 5th on Beam, 6th on Floor and 6th All Around.

Intermediates Age 10: Bree Walker- 2nd on Vault, 3rd on Bars, 4th on Beam, 2nd on Floor and 3rd All Around. Ashley Dyke- 4th on Vault, 7th on Bars, 7th on Beam, 7th on Floor and 7th All Around.

On Feb. 11-12 the Neepawa Competitive Team attended the Fantastics Gymnastics Competition in Winnipeg.

Advanced Age 9-10: Monique Malsi- 5th on Vault, 10th on Bars, 10th on Beam, 2nd on Floor and 10th All Around.

Pre-Provincial Age 11: Jayden Armstrong- 6th on Vault, 6th on Bars, 6th on Beam, 6th on Floor and 6th All Around.

The club finished off February with a visit from Olympic gymnast, Isabela Onyshko. She talked with the gymnasts about her road to the Olympics, her training schedule, struggles and triumphs. It was a great experience for our club and we really appreciate Isabela taking time out of her schedule for some fans!
