Krista was molested at eight years old, causing her to lose her identity and sense of self-worth. At 20, she was raped and her life soon spiraled out of control. Trying to mend the broken pieces of her heart, Krista turned to drugs and satanism. She became suicidal, and that’s when Krista reached out to Adult & Teen Challenge for help.

Krista is currently in the second phase of the yearlong residential recovery program, part of a network of more than 1400 centres around the world that includes the new 20-bed women’s centre in Brandon, Manitoba.

Adult & Teen Challenge has been serving the region of Central Canada, through its Christian recovery program and local outreaches, since 1995. Teaching biblical principles as a solution to life-controlling programs, they have seen hundreds of men and women find freedom from addiction and become successful, contributing members of their communities.

Adult & Teen Challenge will visit Neepawa on Sunday, April 2nd with a 7pm event at Calvary Chapel. There is no cost for admission, and the event is open to the public.

Attendees can expect to hear more of Krista’s story (along with others), enjoy inspirational music from the student choir and discover how Adult & Teen Challenge is helping to make a difference in the community. “We know that no community is immune to the current epidemic of addictions. We have been hearing more and more about how addictions and their effects are running rampant through the Westman region. This evening promises to bring hope and encouragement to the people of Neepawa. Come and hear stories of change and assurance from men and women that are being helped through this amazing ministry,” said Pastor Terry Thiessen.

Adult & Teen Challenge was the lifeline that Krista was looking for when she was in despair.  Today she is passionate to share about the destruction drugs and alcohol can cause, and is looking forward to a bright future.

The concert will take place Calvary Chapel, 221 Hamilton Street, Sunday, April 2nd 2017.
