Recreation Manager
As spring continues, Riverdale Recreation Commission (RRC) has been very busy with new and well-attended classes in April, with many of these programs continuing into May. We have also released our summer day camp registration, which is available at the RRC office, municipal office and online (riversrink.ca/whats-new/). Summer is just around the corner, so make sure you register your children for a fun summer of sport weeks, art weeks and a new and exciting two-week theatre camp through RRC! If you are looking for more information on the summer day camps, please contact me.
Successful programs that were run in April include art night out, canvases for kids, shake rattle & roll, and two yoga programs. As we make our way into May new programs that are being held include: drums alive, circuit training, kids in the kitchen, roads to rhythm baby and toddler music programs, along with a drop-in floor ball program. Floor ball runs every Tuesday and Thursday after school (3:30-4:30 p.m.) until June 15. All equipment is provided; however, you must bring clean running shoes.
RRC has teamed up with Riverdale Golf & Country Club to put on a four-week (June 9-30) junior golf program for youth under the ages of 17. These are not private lessons; however, they give youth an opportunity to get onto the golf course and practise their skills. Golf equipment is provided if you do not have any; however, if you own your own equipment, it is encouraged that you bring it.
Programs and events to look forward to for the remainder of spring and looking into summer include junior golf, bootcamps, yoga, after school programs, self-defence seminar, Canada 150 celebration and day camps.
