Riverdale Harvest food bank held its first meeting of 2018 on Jan. 10 in Prairie Crocus Regional Library. It was discussed how fortunate we are to live in a community that has organizations which work hard to reach their own goals, but still make the effort to support other organizations.

In addition to the continued support from local churches and businesses, Harvest received support from organizations such as Rivers 50 Plus Club, Rivers 4-H Multi Club, Oak River School, Rivers Health Centre and the Rage hockey team, just to name a few. We also saw an increase in monetary donations by numerous individuals. These additional donations have helped to give us a great start to 2018!

In an effort to continue this upward trend of support, the committee is looking into doing a spring food drive. More information will follow on this once everything has been finalized. We would remind everyone wishing to donate, that food can be dropped off at: Zion Church, Rivers Baptist Church, Rivers United Church and Rivers Bigway Foods.
