Another provincial budget just means more debt and more NDP broken promises for Manitobans. On Thursday, April 30 finance minister Greg Dewar presented Budget 2015 that neglects to address the priorities that are important in Riding Mountain.

The May 11 meeting was called to order by comrade Darryl Childerhose, our president, at 1930 hours; 10 members were present. During the usual moment of silence we noted the loss of another Second World War veteran; last month we remembered Bert Dunn, this time it was Nick Kamula.

NACI HOPE students partner with Rotary Club in clean up

On  May 5, Rotarians and NACI HOPE students enjoyed a barbecue at Riverbend Park following a successful cleanup. A total of 80 NACI students were divided into three groups to work in Rotary Park, the fairgrounds and the compost site.

Young humanitarians honoured by The Manitoba Teachers' Society

Compassion, drive and humility will be in the spotlight May 20 at the Fairmont Winnipeg as the 18th annual MTS Young Humanitarian Awards show highlights 31 public school students from four school divisions in Brandon, Portage la Prairie and Winnipeg.

Victoria Day Concert a celebration

To commemorate the 70th anniversary of VE Day, a concert took place May 10 in Neepawa. Organized by Remi Bouchard and the VCC, the music for “Victory Day” was provided by the Winnipeg based Rocky Bogart New Casbah Band.
