It is a well known fact that animals feel and discern the emotional and physical state of their owners. A horse will react to how his owner feels that day. He will not perform to his highest capacity if the rider is distressed or ill.

My dog knows exactly how I feel as soon as I get up. When I am not feeling well she snuggles up to me to let me know that she realizes how I feel and tries to comfort me. We also know that some dogs can be trained to be the eyes of their owner and they will not make any mistakes when they lead their owner along.

When God created the animals He told Adam to have dominion over them (Genesis 1:26). This does not mean to abuse or mistreat them. We know that animals will listen to us if we treat them right. We need to teach our children to have respect for animals and care for them.

Do something special for an animal or pet this week.
