A former member of the Yellowhead Chiefs was traded recently in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.

The Winkler Flyers have traded 17-year-old Taylor Sanheim and future considerations to the Dauphin Kings for 18-year-old goaltender Adam Vander Linden and the MJHL list rights of 16-year-old forward Jordan McCausland.

Sanheim, from Elkhorn, had 110 points, including 56 goals for the Chiefs in the Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League the past two seasons. The 5-foot-10, 184 pound forward also racked up 205 penalty minutes.

“Taylor is a player we’ve had our eyes on since his draft year," said Kings general manager and head coach Marlin Murray in a release. “When he became available, we became interested right away.nWe’re very excited to have Taylor as a King”

Meanwhile, the Flyers made another deal, trading 19-year-old defenceman Ryan Leonzio to the Weeks Crushers of the MHL for future considerations.

Ty Webber, a blueliner for the Neepawa Natives, received a one game suspension for receiving a fighting major penalty for being involved in a second fight in what was a multiple fight situation during the game on Sept. 20 versus the Portage Terriers.

Dane Schioler of the Terriers was also suspended one game for his involvement in a fight with Webber.
