Neepawa Golf and Country Club general manager Landon Cameron says, weather permitting, he's hoping the course will remain open for the season until Oct. 20.

"Hopefully it can stay open, then we'll take it day-by-day," he told myWestman.ca on Friday.

The clubhouse meanwhile, will be closing on Oct. 13.

Looking back on the year, Cameron points to Neepawa hosting the amateur golf championship in July as a highlight for the course.

"It brought a lot of exposure to the course," he said. "The reviews were amazing from Golf Manitoba and the players."

He notes that the season overall has been very successful with regards to the number of folks who came out to golf and the several external tournaments that took place this year.

"We're just going to build towards next year, trying to grow revenues."

He says the amateur championship should help with revenue in the future due to the interest the course generated following the event.

"It [amateur] will keep us on the map to get big tournaments in the coming years," he concluded.
