Wheat Kings' captain Ryan Pulock is on his way back to Brandon.

A first round draft pick (15th overall) of the Islanders in last June's National Hockey League Draft, the 19-year-old Grandview product is on his way back to the Wheat Kings after being reassigned by New York Monday afternoon.

A former WHL Eastern Conference all-star, Pulock is expected to be in the Brandon lineup Wednesday night when the Wheat Kings kick off a five-game home-stand against the defending Eastern Conference champion Edmonton Oil Kings.

Pulock celebrated signing an entry-level contract with the Islanders on Saturday, by scoring his first ever NHL goal in Sunday night's 4-1 exhibition contest victory over the Senators in Ottawa.

A three-year WHL veteran, Pulock scored eight goals and 42 points in 63 games for the Wheat Kings in 2012-13 to share the team scoring lead with Tim McGauley.

In 195 career games, the 6-foot-1, 213 pound blueliner has scored 41 goals and 147 points and has led Brandon defencemen in scoring for three consecutive seasons. His 42 points as a rookie in 2010-11 established a new club record for 16-year old defencemen, breaking the previous standard set by Wade Redden (39) in 1993-94.
