The Brandon Wheat Kings kicked off a five-game Western Hockey League home stand Wednesday night and team captain Ryan Pulock played a key role in helping the club defeat the defending Eastern Conference champion Edmonton Oil Kings 4-3 at Westman Place.

Pulock, who rejoined the team this week after spending the past month with the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, finished the night with two goals and four points on the night in what was his first game back with the Wheat Kings this season. It also was enough to push him past the 150-point plateau in his four year career with the Wheat Kings. In 196 WHL games, the Islanders first round draft pick has scored 43 goals and 151 points.

Tim McGauley, with his second of the season and Jayce Hawryluk with his first, rounded out the scoring for the Wheat Kings, who play host to Vancouver and Red Deer this Friday and Saturday nights at Westman Place.

In making his fourth appearance of the season, veteran Curtis Honey made 33 stops in the Brandon net, including 17 in the first period.

With the win, the Wheat Kings improved their record to 3-2-0 on the season.
