Natives rally in third period; pick up point against Flyers

The Neepawa Natives lost 4-3 to the Winkler Flyers in a shootout on Tuesday night in Manitoba Junior Hockey League action.
Lyndon Soper of the Natives netted his second tally of the night in the third period, while Derrick Brooks also scored for Neepawa to tie the game at 3-3 before Luke Karakas scored what would be the lone goal in the shootout to give the Flyers the win.
Adam Vander Linden picked up the win between the pipes for Winkler, stopping 28 of 31 shots, while Davy Fisher and Tyson Verhelst combined to make 44 saves in net for Neepawa, who now sit with a 7-12-4 record.
In other league action, the Selkirk Steelers edged the Steinbach Pistons by a score of 3-2, while the OCN Blizzard defeated the Swan Valley Stampeders 6-4.
