A questionable boarding penalty to Brandon Wheat Kings captain Ryan Pulock with only 29 seconds remaining in regulation time proved costly Wednesday night as the Medicine Hat Tigers scored a come from behind 4-3 overtime win.

Tommy Vanelli's power play goal at the 42 second mark of overtime gave the hometown Tigers the win, snapping Brandon's four game win streak in the process.

Jesse Gabrielle had a solid game for the Wheat Kings as the 16-year-old from Moosomin, netted two goals and set up another in a losing cause. For Gabrielle, who played high school hockey last season in Eagan Minnesota, those were the first two goals of his Western Hockey League career.

Eric Roy rounded out the scoring for the Wheat Kings, who led 2-1 and 3-2 at the period breaks.

In making his ninth straight start in goal for the Wheat Kings, 17-year old rookie Jordan Papirny made 26 saves. Marek Langamer meanwhile stopped 26 of 29 shots in the Tigers' cage.

The Wheat Kings, who are now 13-11-1-0 on the season, will now travel to Cranbrook for a two-game weekend series with the Kootenay Ice on Friday and Saturday nights.
