Cooke ties Canada West record for Bobcats in loss to Dinos

After being named the Canada West first star and CIS female athlete of the week recently, Cassie Cooke of the Brandon University women's basketball team continued her solid play on Thursday night. 

Cooke finished with nine three-pointers, which tied a Canada West single game record, and 39 points in total for the Bobcats, who dropped a 66-64 decision to the host University of Calgary Dinos.

Of Cooke's 29 field goal attempts, 21 came from beyond the arc on a night where she added five assists, six rebounds and a steal for the Bobcats, who now sit with a 2-7 conference record. 

Kaela Cranston finished with 11 points for the Lady 'Cats, while Stephanie Haynes ended up with a team-high eight rebounds. 

Meanwhile, the BU men's basketball team lost 89-77 to the Dinos. 

Kenonte Ramsey ended up with 25 points, while Ali-Mounir Benabdelhak and Jordan Reaves each had 16 points for the Bobcats, who dropped to 1-8 this season. 

Both BU teams will take on the Dinos once again on Friday night at the Jack Simpson Gym in Calgary.
