Butler nets hat-trick as Kings rout Natives

The struggling Neepawa Natives dropped their sixth game in a row on Thursday night in Manitoba Junior Hockey League action.

Dylan Butler netted a hat-trick, helping the host Dauphin Kings crush the Natives 10-1 at Credit Union Place.

Dalton Siwak and Jared Morris each scored twice for the Kings, while former Native Brayden Cuthbert also got in on the action with a tally. Justin Valentino and Chandler Irvin scored the other goals for Dauphin, who outshot Neepawa 45-26.

Luke Karakas scored the lone goal for Neepawa on the power play at the 8:23 mark of the third period.

Kings netminder Brian Archibald turned aside 25 of 26 shots to pick up the win, while Matt Young made 35 saves between the pipes for the Natives, who have been outscored 47-10 during their current losing streak.

With the win, the Kings improved to 20-12-1 this season, while the Natives dropped to 9-24-4.

The Natives travel to Virden to battle the Oil Capitals on Saturday night before going on their eight day Christmas break.
