Daneault wins Manitoba Open
Richard Daneault won this year's Manitoba Open curling bonspiel.
Daneault defeated Sean Grassie 6-3 in the Asham championship final on Monday. With the win, Daneault earns a berth into the Safeway men's provincial curling championship, which begins in Winnipeg later this month.
Mark Lukowich and Don Nelson wound up earning spots into the Safeway Championship as well. A fourth berth remains undecided as Kevin Brown will take on Trevor Loreth on Tuesday night for the final spot.
Formerly the MCA Bonspiel, the annual event consists of more than 250 teams and is considered the longest running bonspiel in the world.
