Rivers Jets midget team ended their season on a high note this past weekend when they attended the Cargill Provincial B championships in Winnipegosis.

They had a hard-fought game to open the tournament against MacGregor; they lost 4-2. They then faced Lundar Lakers on Saturday afternoon. Luck was not on our side as Jets did not get any breaks so fell to the Lakers.

Sunday morning the Jets faced off against Winnipegosis Tigers. This was the seventh time we have met them this year, and our Jets had only defeated them once before in regular league play.

The team had to come back from a 3-1 deficit, and tied the game 5-5 with just a little over one minute left in regulation time! Keaton Moore found the back of the net in the final two minutes of sudden death overtime to help the Jets soar past the Tigers and take the consolation title. It was a great finish for the midgets and their hockey year.
