80 years ago: Tuesday May 11, 1937.

Tomorrow, May 12, is Coronation Day and the people of the British empire will rejoice. Since their gracious majesties George VI and Elizabeth have ascended the admiration and respect of all their subjects, millions of whom will pledge their loyalty to them at the thousand of coronation services held throughout the Empire on Wednesday.

NACI Tigers busy around the diamond

The Neepawa Tigers hit the home diamonds for a pair of games on Thursday, May 11. The boy’s baseball club were wrapping up their Zone Seven regular season with a showdown against the Carberry Cougars, while the girls’ fast-pitch squad started their regular season against Carberry as well. The fast-pitch team was able to end the day with a 17-14 victory, while the baseball team were defeated 17-11.

HMK spring fling celebrates playground fundraiser going 'over the top'

The Yellowhead Centre was the place to be on Friday, May 12 for Hazel M. Kellington (HMK)’s staff, students and families. The annual family dance was extra festive this year thanks to two generous donations that have helped the school surpass its fundraising goal for its new playground, to be built this summer.
