Sale of steers helps STARS program

Submitted photo. In addition to being in the gallery of the Legislature while MLA Eileen Clarke highlighted the Bjarnarson children’s commitment to hard work and giving back to their community, the family also got to visit STARS’ Winnipeg base on Oct. 17. While there, they got to meet the crew and see the equipment used to stabilize and transport patients.

The Honourable Eileen Clarke, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Agassiz and Minister of Indigenous and Municipal Relations, celebrated the hard work and philanthropy of the Bjarnarson family, of Gladstone, and highlighted the critical work being undertaken by the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) program in Manitoba.

In anticipation of Canada’s 150th birthday, happening in 2017, the Glenella and area community is busy planning a homecoming celebration for the long weekend of Aug. 4 to 6, 2017. The Municipality is preparing a site for an RV park to be up and running for summer 2017.

New plan to create vision, consistency

Next week, area residents will have the chance to share their vision for the community’s future. On Oct. 27, the Neepawa and Area Planning District (NAPD) will be hosting a community workshop as they work to upgrade the area’s development plan.

Inventory of recreation services to be presented

A review of Neepawa’s recreational services is happening at the Neepawa Town Office on Oct. 26 at 7 p.m.

Manitoba Indigenous and Municipal Relations regional consultant Charlene Dysart will be on hand to present the findings of a study she did on the delivery of recreation services in town.
