Country Christmas coming to Brookdale

On Dec. 10, Christmas is coming early to Brookdale with a special performance by Country Blend. This will be the second year that the band and the Brookdale Elementary School Parent Council have teamed up to present a Christmas concert.

Open house fills the house

Zen Development held an open house at the former Neepawa-Gladstone Co-op grocery store in downtown Neepawa on Wednesday night. Only one word can describe the response and that's "overwhelming". James and Carla Janzen and John Lavich, of Zen Development, had prepared for 40 to 50 people but about 75 showed up to have a quick first look at their proposed 55Plus seniors housing project.

Lily Festival will return in 2015

The annual general meeting of the Neepawa & Area Lily Festival on Nov. 6  saw five new people come forward and confirm that they will be joining the organization’s board of directors and another five who have shown interest in joining the board.

New heritage park under construction in Arden

The early days of the railway are being remembered in a new park in the Village of Arden. Last month, volunteers from the community’s Heritage Committee installed a refurbished railway push cart in the heritage park at the north end of town.
