My perspective - This is why we can't have nice things

On Friday, Neepawa area residents received some news that seems to have become all too common. At around lunch time, the Town announced that the change rooms at the Flats would be closed to the public and locked for the weekend, following another incident of graffiti. Despite cameras, problems with graffiti and vandalism at the site have been ongoing.

The familiar strains of this hymn of the Christian church is well known around the world. The words and music have implored millions of listeners to come and adore the Baby Jesus and to follow him. The name Jesus means “saviour”or “rescuer”.

My perspective - Ready or not

Over the next decade, it’s estimated that about $1.5 trillion worth of business assets will change hands in Canada. The success or failure of this transfer will have a huge impact on Canada’s economy and I’m not convinced we’ve done all we can to prepare.

Idon’t know if I have ever been so upset about a topic in all my years of writing a column. Canada, and especially western Canada, is getting a very raw deal. The federal government’s ill-planned treatment of our oil industry is scandalous.
