Gladstone Happy Roc Horseshoes 4H Club
On Feb. 17, the Happy Rock Horseshoes held their Communications Night at the Gladstone United Church. Our speakers were Keelan George, Taylor Terin, Regan Teichroeb, Madison Teichroeb, Kaiden George, Tatjana Barabanov, J’lyn Funk, Cassidy George, Kaitlyn Davey and Megan Hall.
Jillian Dalby wins Young Women of Distinction award

Jillian Dalby was nominated as a young woman of distinction for this year’s awards ceremony, held March 12 at Brandon’s Keystone Centre. Open to women aged 22-29, the Alexander-area lady fit the bill and was duly acknowledged for her work in the equine field.

Community Foundation celebrates milestones

This year, the Beautiful Plains Community Foundation is celebrating its 20th anniversary and those involved with the organization are hoping to see the community celebrate with them. On Saturday, April 18, the Foundation will be holding a birthday party, one of a few special events planned for this year.
NACTV to broadcast British show with local connection

Next month, Neepawa’s NACTV will broadcast the world premier of a British drama-comedy called Black by Day. The show, set in working class England in 1910, follows the stories of three women and their families in very rough times. The two half-hour pilot episodes will air on Monday, April 6 and April 13.

Community comes out to support fire victims

On March 25, the four families who lived above the Neepawa Home Hardware store lost everything when the building was destroyed by a fire. In the weeks following the disaster, the community stepped up to help those displaced and on March 21, two fundraising socials were held.
