Volunteers will be helping to file income tax returns again this year. Community Volunteer Income Tax Program is a free program for people with simple tax returns with income at or below a certain level: $30,000 for single people, $35,000 for couples and $35,000 for single parents with one child (add $2,500 for each additional child).

The price of burials and care fees at the Neepawa Riverside Cemetery have increased. Town council approved the rise to the service charges during its last public meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 17.

Community rallies to save Mt. Agassiz

Local citizens and ski enthusiasts gathered in the town of McCreary on Saturday, Feb. 21, to support the resurrection of Mount Agassiz ski hill. About 125 people participated in the rally, which included speeches at the local community hall and a protest at the base of the Alpine Archie road statue, against the demolition of the ski-lift towers.

Riverdale Municipality, Jan. 20: Recreation manager Navi Gill proposed a fitness area in Riverdale Community Centre which would be funded by grants and user fees to maximize rental opportunities and promote/provide healthy living space/equipment.

Blood donor clinic coming to Neepawa

Next week, Canadian Blood Services will be making a stop in Neepawa for a two day blood donor clinic. To be held at the Yellowhead Centre on March 2 and 3, Canadian Blood Services spokesperson Mike Choi said that they are looking for all types of donors.
