On July 20, Eileen Clarke, MLA for the Agassiz constituency, had a grand opening for her new office in Gladstone. Clarke and some of her representatives from the area came together and had a ribbon cutting and visiting. Clarke said in her opening speech, “We know what direction we would like to take Agassiz in.”
Local municipalities get provincial help for road works

From small to large, area municipalities will be undertaking road improvement projects this summer thanks to recently announced provincial funding. On July 25, Agassiz MLA and Indigenous and Municipal Relations minister Eileen Clarke announced $12 million in funding under the Municipal Road Improvement Program. Under this program, the province will partner with municipalities and provide half of the project’s funding.

Major addition, Child Care Centre announced for NACI

Students and families will soon benefit from a major addition to Neepawa Area Collegiate that includes a new child care centre, Education and Training Minister Ian Wishart and Indigenous and Municipal Relations Minister Eileen Clarke announced today.

New walking path progressing step by step

In the middle of Neepawa, down at the Flats there is a new walking path. For Canada’s 150th birthday, there is a new wall with the words “Canada 150 1867 – 2017” written on it. The wall is part of the walking path and it’s for use by multiple generations. If you’re going for a walk and pushing a stroller, learning to ride a bike, or even when you’re older and out for a scooter ride, it will be handy for you.

80 years ago. Tuesday, August 3, 1937
Langford Miller and Manson Martin brought provincial distinction to the town when they annexed the Manitoba grass court men’s doubles tennis title at the tournament in Minnedosa last week. Their sparkling three set victory was scored at the expense of Sidney Hancock and G.T. Turley, of Minnedosa, the standings being 7-5, 6-1, 6-3. They brought home with them the coveted Turley cups and prizes. These cups have been in circulation since 1922 and have never been outside Winnipeg, Brandon or Minnedosa before this year. Congratulations to the local boys who scored for Neepawa.
