Heritage Festival returning to Carberry

The Carberry Heritage Festival is back, and this year, it’s bigger and better than ever. 

Taking place on Friday, Aug. 12 and Saturday, Aug. 13, the event marks the fourth year of heritage celebrations. And if past trends are anything to go by, it should be even better than last year’s. “[The festivals] keep growing each year. They’re well attended,” said Cathy Drayson, a representative for the festival.

Goal reached for new trail mower

After three years of fundraising, the Rosedale Farm Trail Committee has realized its goal. In June, a new mower was purchased to cut the trail during the summer months. This new mower is a commercial grade machine making it more suitable for the rugged terrain on parts of the trail. It also has a 60 inch cut, which equals half the mowing time of the smaller old lawn tractor previously used on the trail.

Fundraiser supporting sick kids a success

The results are in from a local fundraiser assisting CancerCare Manitoba and Ronald McDonald House. The Super Alyx Golf Tournament and Dinner, which was held on Saturday, July 16, has raised a little over $17,000. The festivities were put together by the Delaloye family, who have a personal connection to both organizations.
