The Gladstone Odd Job Squad has been hard at work the last few weeks. On July 8, nine Odd Job squad members made a trip to Mayfair Farms in Portage la Prairie for the annual strawberry pick. We had over 60 orders to pick!

In early August, the proceeds from this year’s Little Valley Jamboree were distributed to this year’s two recipient families. On Aug. 7, a check for $12,463.55 was presented to Bailey by Rod and Evelyn Lewandoski and Boniface and Gail Sawchuk, when they met with Kristen and Garrett Phillips and their three daughters Leah, Bailey and Jordan.
4-H Beef Club holds achievement

Neepawa & Area 4-H Beef Club
On June 28, the Neepawa & Area 4-H Beef Club held their annual achievement at the Beautiful Plains Ag Society Barn. Our judge was Richard Bramley, Ringperson was Tom Madsen, and our announcer was Michelle Teichroeb. Now on to the winners, but in our club everyone is a winner no matter where you place.

When Amandine Polain returned home to Belgium on July 25, she brought back more than a suitcase full of maple syrup. The Rotary exchange student brought home a year’s worth of memories, friendships and a newfound appreciation of Canada.

At 23 years old, many of us are still discovering our path, trying on different hats until we find the one that best fits. It’s safe to say that few young adults are well established in their careers that age – which is what makes Samantha Hall’s story so intriguing. Hailing from Vancouver, Hall is headed for Manitoba this fall with appearances in Minnedosa and Gladstone as part of CWE Wrestling’s ‘Girls, Girls, Girls’ professional wrestling tour.
